Bengali New Year 1417 Festival

We are going full-blast with our marketing effort for the Bengali New Year 1417 Festival across the country. This year we want to attract more than 5000 people for this City of Austin co-sponsored event to show the impact of BAGA on local community. This will not be possible unless our members join the effort to reach out to their friends, families, colleagues and neighbors!

This year we have created several means for BAGA members to help us promote the event along with the BOD:

We have posted our event on several web-sites including Austin American Statesman, News 8 Austin, KUT, KVUE, KXAN, Eventful, and many other media event calendars. We are in the process of reaching out to local newspaper, radio and television for additional coverage.

BAGA’s biggest strength is its’ members and their connections with various corporations, offices across the city. We want to utilize your influence and connection to the fullest extent this year to bring in new sponsors, increase our liaison with the media and reach-out to people of all age! BAGA Annual Picnic 2010 and Shadhinota Dibosh Celebrations

Please mark your calendars. BAGA Annual Picnic “Bon Bhojon 2010” and “Shadhinota Dibosh” celebration, will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM at Old Settlers Park, located in Round Rock at Palm Valley, 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd (Next to Dell Diamond).

Mohan Ekushe with Austin Bangla School

In light of the rainly weather forecast (40% chance of rain) for this Sunday February 21, 2010, the Board of Directors of BAGA and Austin Bangla School have jointly decided to move the Mohan Ekushe celebrations to an indoor venue at Steiner Ranch Community Center. BAGA is proud and honored to jointly organize the Mohan Ekushe with Austin Bangla School (ABS) like previous years.

BAGA Blood Drive to Commemorate Mohan Ekushe

BAGA BOD is pleased to announce that we have organized a blood donation drive with The Blood Center of Central Texas (http://www.bloodand tissue.org/) to commemorate Mohan Ekushe. The Blood Center of Central Texas is the exclusive provider and guardian of the community blood supply for more than 30 medical facilities in a ten-county service area of central Texas .
